What To Do In Berkeley This Weekend #2: Toots and the Maytals

8 PM / Friday, April 14

View Website: Toots is one of the true architects of reggae – so much so that “Do the Reggay,” a 1968 single by Toots and his group, the Maytals, is credited with giving the genre its name. Classic songs written and recorded by Toots and the Maytals have been covered by the likes of the Clash and the Specials, and the group was featured in reggae’s greatest breakthrough event – “The Harder They Come,” the 1972 film that became an international sensation.

View Website: Eggster is a student organization sponsored by ASUC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Berkeley. Every year we organize and run the Eggster Egghunt and Learning Festival, the largest free egg hunt and learning festival in Northern California. Not only is it free for all kids, it is also a learning festival filled with educational booths and activities! In addition, we partner with local charities to support youth education.

View Website: You don’t want to miss the City of Berkeley’s annual Spring Egg Hunt Extravaganza. The day will be filled with tons of fun activities, including a petting zoo, a visit with the Spring Bunny, spring-themed arts and crafts, an interactive kid’s carnival with fun prizes and Bunny Hop Dance lessons! Youth participants will receive a basket to collect all their spring goodies. Youth ages 11+ can participate in a fun scavenger hunt for prizes! Call 981-5150 for more info.
